Wednesday was my first day of work at the library. It was great to start and get to work. Our life has been busy lately, but it has been busy at home. That gets old. The idyllic dream of spending the day on the couch, staring at the tube, makes one ready to get out by 10AM.
So I am an 8-5 guy for the first time of my life. I am still riding my bike to work. Andrea and I are looking for a house in the neighborhood. We’ll see.
My only gaffe happened Thursday at lunch with the library staff. We were at a restaurant with self-service. I was the first to grab dessert. When I came back to the table, the others peered at my bowl, noticing that I had ice cream. I had made an a la mode dessert out of those sugar-coated, fried dough balls they serve in Chinese restaurants. Delicious. At least, it would have been delicious if it had been sweet fried dough. Instead, the fried pieces, which I noted to be a little thin, were actually stuffed with fish.
If you have never tried fish with ice cream I don’t recommend it. Even pregnant women would find this combo to be eccentric.

That’s funny Bob, just keep inventing new desserts. Thomas Edison tried thousands of ideas before succeeding with the light bulb…
Good luck with your new job brother, I know you’ll be a blessing to HUGSR.
